
Hanna Park is a South Korean violinist, known for her expressive sound and versatile musicianship shaped by early training in both ballet and music. She began ballet at age three and started violin at age seven, developing a strong foundation in movement, phrasing, and musical nuance. At eleven, she was admitted to SAC Music Academy at the Seoul Arts Center, receiving intensive mentorship and early performance opportunities as a young artist.
Hanna has received top prizes in major national competitions in Korea, including the 20th TBC Music Competition, Sungjung, Korea Herald, Segye Ilbo, and Kookmin Ilbo Music Competitions, earning multiple special awards. She has been named both a Kumho Young Artist and a Chosun Ilbo Young Artist, two of the highest distinctions awarded to emerging musicians in Korea. She made her solo recital debut at Kumho Art Hall and later gave her formal recital debut at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. Earlier in her development, she appeared as a soloist at the Universal Arts Center, representing both Sunhwa Arts Middle School and Sunhwa Arts High School.
She has also participated in masterclasses with renowned violinists, including Ivry Gitlis, Aaron Rosand, Rainer Küchl, Hyo Kang, Barnabás Kelemen, and Simon James.
She has appeared as a soloist with the Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra, Gyeongbuk Symphony Orchestra, Yonsei Sinfonietta, Sunhwa Symphony Orchestra, Sunhwa Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Salzburger Orchestra in Austria. A recent highlight includes the world premiere of Hasidic Fantasy for Violin and Piano by Michael White at a Juilliard faculty tribute concert, as well as a featured performance at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall during the Yonsei Concert.
Hanna has served as concertmaster for The Juilliard Orchestra, Yonsei Symphony Orchestra, Yonsei Philharmonic Orchestra, and orchestras of Sunhwa Arts High School and Middle School. Her leadership as concertmaster at Juilliard includes performances at Alice Tully Hall and leading Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage.
As a chamber musician, she is the first violinist of the Averis Quartet, an ensemble committed to interpretive depth and collaboration. She has worked closely with mentors including Toby Appel, David Bowlin, Ronald Copes, Nina Lee, Dmitry Kouzov, Brian Hong, Paul Neubauer, Zvi Plesser, Curtis Stewart, Aaron Wunsch, and Shai Wosner. and has participated in chamber music masterclasses with Joel Krosnick and Robert McDonald. She has performed at festivals such as Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival in Maine, Summit Music Festival in New York, Juilliard ChamberFest, and Incheon Music Festival in Korea.
Hanna earned her bachelor’s degree from Yonsei University as the top graduate of her class, studying under Hyuna Kim with full performance-based scholarships. She recently completed her master’s degree at The Juilliard School under Joseph Lin, where she was supported by the Stephen E. Somers and Argyll Campbell Rice & Argyll Pryor Rice Scholarships. Beginning in the fall, she will begin her Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) studies at SUNY Stony Brook.
